  • Jersey Royal Potatoes

    In season until June

    Jersey Royals are famous for their sweet and nutty flavour, and waxy texture. It’s Jersey’s gentle climate that’s gives the potatoes their unique flavour. With a great source of vitamin C, simply wash, boil and serve with a knob of butter.

  • Tomatoes

    In season May until September

    These British on-the-vine tomatoes have been ripened for longer for a sweet taste. Naturally high in the anti-oxidant lycopene. Simply slice and serve with buffalo mozzarella, balsamic vinegar and olive oil for a summer side dish.

  • Rhubarb

    In season April to September

    Zingy British rhubarb is sharp and refreshing in taste and high in vitamin C. For a quick dessert, stew with very little water over a low heat for 20 minutes, adding sugar to taste. For a healthier alternative, replace the sugar with fruit juice.

  • Asparagus

    In season now

    Now peak of season, asparagus is deliciously sweet, tender and bursting with flavour. Packed full of vitamins and is a good source of dietary fibre.

  • Wild Garlic Leaves

    In season from March until July, our wild garlic leaves are foraged by Mrs. Tee in Lymington, Hampshire. Wild garlic is championed for its leaves, with a mild garlic flavour- they work fantastically well in soups or salads.

  • Purple Potatoes

    With their deep purple colour and black truffle appearance, our purple potatoes are at their best steamed or boiled, mashed or roasted. Treat them like usual potatoes and try serving in smoked mackerel salad.

  • Royal Gala Apples

    Our sweet and crunchy Royal Gala apples are grown by Melvyn Newman at his orchard in Canterbury. He has been growing for Budgens for over 30 years.

    Quite literally the ‘daddies’ of courgettes- marrows are courgettes that have been left on the plant to grow. They can act as a blank canvas for soaking up flavours when added to curries or stuffed with cheese, meat or other vegetables.
