Beer Margarita


  • 2 limes, halved
  • 15g fine sea salt
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
  • 60ml tequila reposado
  • 30ml lime juice
  • 30ml Cointreau/Grand Marnier/orange liqueur
  • 30ml maple syrup
  • 4 jalapeño slices
  • 2 Corona Extra beers or 2 ciders


  1. Rub the cut edge of the lime around the top of a pint glasses.
  2. Tip the salt and chilli onto a plate.
  3. Press the rim of the glass into the salt to coat.
  4. Tip 2 handfuls of ice into a jam jar or cocktail shaker.
  5. Add tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, maple syrup and jalapenos.
  6. Shake really well.
  7. Tip ice into decorated glasses.
  8. Strain the margarita into the glass, top with more limes and chillies.
  9. Carefully pour the beer into the glass, tipping the bottle upright in at the end.
