Chocolate Lava Air Fryer Cake


  • 75g butter
  • 75g dark 70% chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 75g light soft brown sugar
  • 75g plain flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 orange, zested
  • Cream and mixed berries, to serve


  1. Tip the butter and chocolate into a heatproof bowl.
  2. Microwave on high for 1½-2 minutes until melted.
  3. Stir until combined and smooth.
  4. Add the sugar, flour, eggs and orange zest.
  5. Mix to a smooth batter.
  6. Grease 2 small mugs.
  7. Divide the batter between the 2 mugs.
  8. Place in an air fryer on 200°C for 10 minutes until risen, golden and set.
  9. Carefully remove from the air fryer and place a plate over the top.
  10. Using a tea towel, flip over and ease the cake out onto the plates.
  11. Serve straightaway with a little cream and berries.
