Cinnamon Pears


  • 2 firm, ripe pears, cored and quartered
  • 150ml / 6fl oz red grape juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 teaspoon honey


  1. Mix together the red grape juice, cinnamon, cloves and honey in a small pan and add the pears.

  2. Poach the pears over a gentle heat for about 20 minutes, turning once or twice.

  3. Serve the poached pears with a little half fat crème fraîche or Greek yogurt.
