Hot Chocolate Stir

Ingredients

  • 4 empty small yoghurt/fromage frais pots, cleaned and dried
  • 200g leftover Christmas chocolate, broken into small pieces/roughly chopped
  • 4 tsp mini marshmallows
  • 600ml milk of your choice

Method

  1. Tip the chocolate into a heatproof bowl and heat on high in the microwave for 1 minute. Check then return to the microwave and heat in 30 second bursts until the chocolate has just melted. (This will vary from microwave to microwave and also depend on what type of chocolate you are melting. You want to see the chocolate just soften then stir together and the residual heat will melt any solid pieces.)

  2. Divide the melted chocolate between the pots then place in the freezer for 5 minutes.

  3. Place a teaspoon (metal or wooden) bowl down, into the centre of the chocolate. The chocolate should have set enough for the spoon to stay upright with the handle sticking out.

  4. Scatter the mini marshmallows over the top and return to the freezer for another 15 minutes until set solid.

  5. Heat the milk in a saucepan until boiling and divide between the mugs. Alternatively, pour 150ml milk into a mug and microwave until hot. Place the chocolate spoon into the mug and stir until the chocolate has dissolved, releasing the marshmallows.

  6. Enjoy!
